DO YOU SEEK HIS FACE ?

“Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.”(I Chronicles 16:11 ). “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” (John 7:24). There is something about seeking his face. That must mean being close to him, because if you are right up to some ones face then you are pretty close to them. They say you are in their space. The Bible says in (Isaiah 53:2,3) “For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” These verses were talking about the time when Jesus came to the earth, and lived, and was crucified for you and me. If that is a picture of Jesus’s face on the shroud of Turin, and I believe it is, then he wasn’t a real handsome man when he was on the earth, was he? If you look in the book of Revelation it gives quite a different description of what Jesus looks like now in his new body. The Bible says we will look like him too, and our new body’s “shall be fashioned like unto his glorious body.”(Philippians 3:21). “and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.”(Revelation 1:16b).However I am sure that we won’t shine as bright as Jesus does. Jesus said; “I am the bright and the morning star.” (Revelations 22:16b).The star that shines brighter than all the stars. Wow, that’s symbolic of Jesus ! “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” (Daniel 12:3). If you are hanging around Jesus a lot some of that shining is bound to rub off on you. So hang out with Jesus and shine. “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:” ( Isaiah 55:6). “And ye shall seek me , and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” ( Jeremiah 29:13). Jesus wants to come and live inside of you, and transform you. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2). “He must increase, but I must decrease.”(John 3:30). I just want more of Jesus, and less of me.

FREEDOM IN PRAISING THE LORD

The Lord spoke to my heart about how he wants all of his children to praise him more. If you really want to knock the devil for a loop just start praising the Lord.“And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.” (Exodus 17:11-13). So if you have some battles you need to overcome and some victories that you want to gain, just start praising the Lord. “The Lord inhabits the praises of his people.”(Psalm 22:3). The Lord is there with you when you praise him. You can praise the Lord alone by yourself, and you can praise the Lord around others during prayer, and praise and worship time. Don’t let the enemy win by using your pride, and listening to the enemy  (the devil and his demons) telling you “Oh, what will people think about me? If I started raising my arms and hands and praising the Lord.” The Lord really loves it when you praise him when your alone, and when you raise your arms and hands and praise him in front of others. It’s even a testimony and can help others to break through in the spirit, and find the freedom from all their cares and troubles by praising the Lord. Just don’t do it for a show to man. “ Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;” (Ephesians 6:6 ). If you are not praising the Lord enough you are really missing out on a great blessing and freedom. So have a break through out of the chains that bind you, and start praising the Lord and speak in tongues. “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:” (l Corinthians 14:18)  “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.” (Psalm 134:2 ). There is a great freedom and blessing awaiting you as you praise him and you will get so much closer to Jesus by praising him. I have been in prayer and praise meetings where it seemed that God’s Spirit was poured out upon us so much that it seemed like he took the whole room to Heavenly places unknown. Paul talked about being caught up to the third heaven (2 Corinthians 12:2). I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard  me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:1-3 ). If you don’t feel like praising the Lord well then that’s the time you need to do it the most. Let God lift you up and out of it by Praising him.  “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3). Please him by Praising him, that is what you were made for.There is going to be plenty of praising the Lord in Heaven. You might as well get used to it. Try it you might like it.

THE PRAYER OF SAINT FRANCIS

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury,pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness,light; and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Do You Have Time To Pray Today?

I got up early one morning, 
And rushed right into the day; 
I had so much to accomplish, 
I didn’t have time to pray. 

Problems just tumbled about me, 
And heavier came each task. 
“Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered. 

He answered, “You didn’t ask.” 

I tried to come into God’s presence; 
I used all my keys at the lock. 
God gently and lovingly chided, 
“Why, child, you didn’t knock.” 

I wanted to see joy and beauty, 
But the day toiled on gray and bleak. 
I wondered why God didn’t show me. 
He said, “You didn’t seek.” 

I woke up early this morning, 
And paused before entering the day. 
I had so much to accomplish 
That I had to take time to pray.

HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD

THE LORD IS SPEAKING. ARE YOU LISTENING? THIS  MESSAGE IS GOOD EVERYDAY.

HEARING FROM THE LORD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON TO LEARN, AND IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON THAT WE NEED TO TEACH TO OTHERS ESPECIALLY TO OUR CHILDREN AND NEW CHRISTIANS. We need to learn how to pray and talk to God, by praying to Jesus his Son and the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and how to listen to him most of all. You wouldn’t just go in front of a King and start asking for things and then turn around and leave. “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted, among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”(Psalm 46:10). “And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind and earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire: but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.” (I Kings 19:11,12). “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21). If you have faith and you are in the spirit, when you ask the Lord for an answer you can take the first thing that comes to you. First impressions are usually from the Lord, if we are sincerely seeking him. There needs to be special times when we have desperate prayer to the Lord, when you cry out to him with your whole heart, and on your face alone with God, and not just on your knees, but with tears and sincere desperation, and even prostrate yourself before him. “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:12,13). Jesus said, to enter into your closet and pray in secret. “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet,and when thou hast shut thy door,pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. “ (Matthew 6:6).The Lord will speak to you in a still small voice,and other ways also. Sometimes he will speak to you with a dream or a vision. “For God Speaketh once,yea twice,yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream,in a vision of the night,when deep sleep falleth upon men,in slumberings upon the bed;Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from him. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.”(Job 33:14-18). “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20).You have to check everything out by the Word. True Revelations from God will not contradict the Bible ! ! ! The Lord did not stop speaking after he gave the Book of Revelation to John. God’s broadcasting station is always on, we just need to learn how to tune into it. The Lord is always trying to speak to us and show us new things. He even speaks to us through his creation, but don’t worship the creation more than the Creator. “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20). One time God even made a  donkey to speak.  “And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.  And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. And God’s anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the Lord stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him. And the ass saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way. But the angel of the Lord stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side. And when the ass saw the angel of the Lord, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall: and he smote her again. And the angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. And when the ass saw the angel of the Lord, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam’s anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff. And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?  And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.  And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay. Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.  And the angel of the Lord said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me: and the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive. And Balaam said unto the angel of the Lord, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again. And the angel of the Lord said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.”(Numbers 22:20-35). The Lord spoke to me one time through a Television show. It was about a guy with my same name who had two kids which I had two at this time. He was an Armored car operator, which I was at the time. Some bad guys had kidnapped his wife & kids to get him to deliver the money to them. I saw this show when I came home from work one day, and was so amazed that the Lord went to all this trouble to speak to me through this T.V. show, that I quit my job the next morning. Shortly after that the Armored car was involved in a robbery and shoot out and one of the drivers was killed. This happened on the same route that I took everyday, and it could have been me, I’m glad I listened to the Lord. So be on the look out, and be alert and tuned into God, He wants to speak to you today. Will you make time to listen? Remember in order to hear from the Lord , you have got to get away from all the hustle and bustle and noise and get alone and get quiet and pour out your heart to him and then get quiet and listen. He will speak to you. Remember praying to Jesus is praying to God. “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (John 10:9). Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)  “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.” (John 16:12). THE HEM OF HIS GARMENT

There is a beautiful true story in the Bible about a poor woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years, one day she heard about Jesus and all the miracles he was doing. She heard how he was healing all the people who were sick and came unto him, even the people who had the dreaded disease of leprosy, and the blind, and the deaf, and even raising the dead. She heard that he was coming to her town. She just had to meet him. She managed to bring herself down to the main road where he was sure to pass by. There was already a great crowd of people waiting when she got there. Suddenly someone said, ” here he comes”. By this time the crowd was so big that she was worried that she wouldn’t even be able to get near him. The disciples were all around him making a way through the crowd so Jesus could get by. Suddenly he walked near her. She still couldn’t get close to him. She said within herself. If I could just reach out and touch the hem of his garment I would be healed. She was on the ground at this time . She reached out by someones feet, (probably one of the disciples), and touched the hem of his garment. Jesus immediately stopped and said to his disciples” Who touched me”? The disciples said, the whole crowd is thronging you, and you asked who touched you? He reached down to the woman and said, “daughter be of good comfort, thy faith hath made the whole” and the woman was healed. You can read this wonderful story in the Bible, in Luke 8:40-48, and  Matthew 9:20-22. Oh, won’t you reach out by faith and touch the hem of his garment? He is passing by and wants to make you whole.

TAKE TIME FOR PRAYER AND THE WORD

Jesus said “Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6).“My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me.”(John 10:27). Do you hunger and thirst to learn God’s truths from his Word? Or is there always something keeping you away? It is the Devil’s job to keep us away from really getting into the Word and prayer. Beloved I say this unto you, out of love and concern. We need to ask ourselves are we really that sheepy or do we follow afar off from the Good Shepherd and get lost from him and get caught in the rocks and crannies and brambles where the wolves can get us? I hope you spend time with the Master praying and feasting on his Word daily. There is a story in the Bible; “Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” (Luke l0: 38-42). How about you? Have you chosen that good part that shall not be taken away? Do you sit at Jesus’s feet and learn from him the words he has to say to you? We have to make time, to take time for prayer, and God’s Word, We take time to eat shouldn’t we take time to feed our spirits every day.”Neither have I gone back from the commandments of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.”( Job 23:12).

THE NAME OF JESUS ( Video & Text)

Some people ask “Why can’t you leave JESUS out of it? ” ‘Why do you have to use his name?” “Why cant’ you just say God,and speak of God’s love and do it in God’s name?” Well these are God’s conditions and not ours. JESUS is the only one you can approach God through. He is our intercessor, our High Priest.“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;“ (1Timothy 2:5). JESUS is the only one who ever died for our sins and rose from the dead, and can give you power to overcome death at the rapture. JESUS is the Only Begotten Son of God. Born of a virgin.The Bible says,“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men ,where by we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). “JESUS saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).”And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13). We are to pray in his name, cast out devils in his name, heal in his name, preach in his name. Without the name of JESUS CHRIST there is no power. Everything we have is in JESUS name. “Whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he will give it you.” (John I6:23b). Expect miracles, and in the name of JESUS you will have them! “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21). Look how much emphasis the early disciples in the book of Acts put on the name of JESUS ! That’s all they preached and talked about, JESUS ! And that’s the name they did all those miracles in, JESUS ! And that’s the name they won so much of the world in, JESUS ! And that’s the name we will win the world in too, JESUS ! It’s JESUS that counts.  “JESUS CHRIST the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). JESUS is the most important name in all of creation! Without the name of JESUS you can’t get into heaven or out of hell ! There is something about that name. It is the most soothing, comforting, and peaceful name that I have ever heard. JESUS is the sweetest name I know, and he is just the same as his precious name.The devil and his demons hate the name of JESUS and flee from it. “That at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10,11). “And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and earth.” (Matthew 28:18). The Power of the name of JESUS is more power than all of man’s atomic and nuclear bombs put together, and the power of the sun, and all the power of all creation put together. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12).“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” (Revelation 19:13). JESUS is the Word of God. “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14). “for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Psalms 138:2b).“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Revelation 19:16). “Then Peter said, Sliver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6).  “AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.” (Acts 2:21).You can accomplish things in his name! Are you using the power he has given you through his name?

ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN ! ! !

Someone asked; why do you have to always use the name of Jesus? Aren’t Buddha, and Hindu, and Mohammed, and all these other religions all trying to reach the same God? Well they are trying to reach their version of Heaven, but true Christianity teaches us that God is reaching out to man through his Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, and not man through his good works trying to attain God and Heaven. The Bible teaches us “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”( Ephesians 2:8,9). In fact Jesus himself said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”(John 14:6).These are God’s terms and conditions. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16).The fact is, that you could never be good enough to go to Heaven. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” (Titus 3:5). “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Isaiah 64:6). “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6). “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins,
even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”  (Jeremiah 17:9-10). “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23). Jesus said; If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.” (John 15:22). In other words if someone hasn’t heard about Jesus and what he did for them, then they are not accountable. That is why Jesus gave us the great commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, THE GOOD NEWS to everyone. (Mark 16:15). That is why we teach and preach and live in the Name of Jesus Christ! “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. “(Acts 4:12). “The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. “(I John 1:7b). Only through faith in Jesus Christ and his shed blood for you to take away your sins; can you go to Heaven, by God’s Grace. GRACE is a Gift Received At Christ’s Expense. You can never be to bad for Jesus to save you, only to good, by thinking that you could save yourself by your own good works, and that you don’t need Jesus.

MEMORY VERSES FOR YOUR BASIC FOUNDATION OF FAITH

Here is a challenge for you, memorize at least one verse a day, or at least one a week, (with also the references), to strengthen your faith and help you through the days ahead. If you do this, the Lord will be pleased with you, and bless you, and mightily use you ! Please follow the order in which these verses are laid out to build your foundation strong, and your house upon the Rock.
