Wondrous Truths ! Some helpful Hebrew and Greek

If you desire to learn more about the Bible, then it is helpful to learn the meaning  of some Greek and Hebrew words to give you a more in depth understanding of the scriptures. If you just want a basic understanding of the scriptures, then the King James Bible is the best for you to achieve that goal. Here are some important Hebrew and Greek words that you should know.

In Genesis 1:28 the word replenish comes from the Hebrew word “male or mela”, Which means to “fill”. See our teaching called ” ANOTHER FALSE DOCTRINE FROM THE DEVIL EXPOSED !” for a detailed explanation.

Did you know that when you add “im” (in Hebrew) on to the word God it makes it plural? (Elohim). So in the first chapter  where it says God created everything it is actually saying Gods, meaning God, and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit made everything together.

In Hebrew the word “Ruah” was translated into English as the word Spirit, and it refers to feminine, and the word Spirit in Greek is “Pneuma” which can mean either male or female. When the King James Bible was translated from Greek to English in 1611, it was during a time when blasphemers and heretics were burned at the stake. The Scholars  who translated the Bible were apparently afraid of saying that the Holy Spirit was feminine so they used the word ” he ” when referring to the Holy Spirit, instead of saying “she” as is clearly brought out in Hebrew. Also when Jesus was speaking in Aramaic ( the common language of his day) he used a pronoun “Paraclete” that meant feminine when referring to the Holy Spirit. “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” ( Genesis 1:26,27). This verse also shows that God and the Holy Spirit are not some kind of vaporous gas, but an actual being, and that we look like their image.

Many preachers say there is no hope for people in Hell, and that once you die and are not saved you are doomed forever to hell. This false teaching offends many peoples sense of God’s love, and mercy, and turns many away from God.  Some of those verses about eternity in the Bible actually come from the Hebrew word “Olam” meaning distant future or distant past, but were translated into English to mean forever. Also in Greek the word “Con ” means a time period. This word “Con” was also translated into English as  “forever”. So it doesn’t necessarily mean that hell and peoples confinement there is forever. A better translation would be for a time period. So those three days that Jesus’ body lay in the tomb, his spirit went to hell to give those people there another chance to get out by believing in him and accepting him as their saviour. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;” (1 Peter 3:18,19).“For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (Matthew 12:40). Why would Jesus go to hell when his body was in the tomb, and preach to the spirits in prison there if they couldn’t have another chance to get out? Praise God for his mercy and Love, which endures forever !!! This means if you have a loved one who died and you were not sure if they were saved or not, there is hope for them still, and they are not doomed to Hell forever with no hope of ever seeing them again, as so many churches teach.

MESSIAH, is a Hebrew word and it means “The Anointed One.” The word “Messiah” means, “Christ” in Greek. Jesus was anointed by God in 26 A.D. to begin his public ministry and to die for the sins of everyone who will receive him as their Saviour. When John Baptized him, the Holy Spirit descended upon him.  “And  lo a voice from heaven,(was heard) saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.(Matthew 3:17).

The word “David” in Hebrew means “The Beloved of God”, which is obviously talking  about Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament the prophecies in Ezekiel and Hosea, referring to “David” and the End Times are talking about Jesus Christ, and the Jews who will turn to Jesus as their Messiah, specifically the 144,000 of Revelation Chapters 7&14. “And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant DAVID; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant DAVID a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it. “ ( Ezekiel 34:23,24). “And DAVID my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant DAVID shall be their prince for ever.” (Ezekiel 37:24,25). “afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and DAVID their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.” (Hosea 3:5).For a clearer understanding of these verses, every place where it says DAVID just say” The Beloved of GOD“, who is JESUS CHRIST.

The word “Week” found in Daniel Chapter 9, comes from the Hebrew word “Shabuwa”, which means a period of seven years. Study our class on Daniel Chapter 9 for a detailed understanding on this so very important subject.

“NOW FAITH  is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).The word “Substance” comes from the Greek word “Hupostasis”, which means the “Title Deed”. In other words if you have the Title Deed to a property you know that you own it, and you can be sure it is yours even if you have never even seen it !”

The word “Believe” comes from the Greek word  “Pisteuo” which means to trust and take in.

You don’t really need to learn the whole Greek and Hebrew language to understand the Bible, but it wouldn’t hurt, if you think you have enough time. If you just understand the Hebrew and Greek in this lesson it will greatly help you to understand some of these basic and important truths of God’s Word. Jesus said; “Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst, after righteousness for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6). The Bible says; “Open thou mine eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” (Psalm 119:18).

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen

ARE YOU ONE OF GOD’S SHEEP?

Did you know that sheep are about the only animal that is totally indefensible they can’t run fast, they have no body protection, only soft wool, little small hooves for feet, no horns (to speak of) PictureofSHEEP or big sharp teeth. They are always running off and going astray, and getting caught in the rocks, and crannies and thorn bushes. They are totally dependent upon their Shepherd to protect them from the wolves, and other predators. This must be the reason Jesus used sheep to describe his people. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” (John 10:27). That is how you can tell who the sheep are. They hear his voice and they follow Jesus. Some sheep follow  the Shepherd from a far distance, and they are in more danger, and not as safe as the sheep who stick close to the Shepherd, “ I am the good shepherd: the good Shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one Shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.” (John 10:11-17). “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6). “and before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.” (Matthew 25:32-33). The Bible also says; “Woe to the Idol Shepherd that leaveth the flock! The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be cleaned dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.” (Zechariah 11:17). “feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the over sight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” (1 Peter 5:2-4). Are you one of God’s sheep, or one of his Shepherd’s, or a goat? Did you know that anti-venom for humans from snake bites is made from the Blood of The Lamb?

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

HOW TO JUDGE A RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” (John 7:24). Remember there are always at least two sides to every story, and sometimes even more. The main thing is God’s side. God’s side is the right side. It doesn’t matter what I think or what anybody thinks. What matters is what God thinks. To determine this you must hear all sides of the story before you can make a righteous judgment after praying about it. Don’t jump to conclusions before hearing the other guys side, or you might be having to apologize and eat some humble pie. Walk a mile in their shoes before you judge them. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9). See the lesson on “Judge or Not to Judge”. This lesson is especially important if you are a parent or a person who people might respect or if you represent the Lord as an Ambassador of Christ, such as this story of King Solomon who was blessed by God with Wisdom and Righteous Judgment, because he pleased God. Solomon knew he was not worthy, and prayed the Lord God would only give him wisdom to righteously judge God’s people as the servant of God. “Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him. And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house. And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. And this woman’s child died in the night; because she overlaid it. And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear. And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king. Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it. Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.” (1 Kings 3:16-28) This is just one example in the Bible of God giving Righteous Judgment to his servants. Seek to be more like Jesus Christ, God’s Only Begotten Son who was the righteousness’ of God. May the Lord bless you with wisdom and discernment, in judging others, even members of your own family.

Amen.

Why we use The Authorized King James version of the Bible

Recently my son James came over and commented on our website www.answersintheword.com. He said how he really liked it and thought it was a great way to get the Gospel out to all the world as Jesus commanded us in Mark 16:15. He also said, “couldn’t we use regular English instead of the King James English, so maybe people could understand it better?” As I was praying about this later it came to me that maybe I had not taught him good enough when he was younger about why we use the Authorized King James Bible. The Lord also spoke to me and said “Come on, what is so hard about a few thee’s and thou’s and thine’s.” I mean really is that so hard to grasp? Also Fred said the same thing and even gave us a Bible that was not the King James Version for Christmas. He was just trying to do a kind gesture, but he didn’t understand apparently the following. Perhaps we can help others also to better understand the reasons why we use the Authorized King James Bible which are as follows, but first let me share with you a little Bible History:

1.) The Old testament was first written in Hebrew, and The New Testament was first written in Greek. The Old Testament was translated into Greek in 250 B.C. under the reign of King Philadelphus of Greece. This is an established historical fact that is taught in all Colleges and Universities. It is called “The Septuagint“.
2.) The New Testament was translated in 1611 A.D. under the reign of King James in England. It was translated by 70 scholars and Theologians of the Hebrew, and Greek, and Aramaic which was the common language spoken with Hebrew at Jerusalem in Jesus’s time there, and it took them ten years to finish this monumental task. This was accomplished during a time when heretics were burned at the stake, so they were extremely careful to not make any mistakes at all, and to get every jot and comma correct.
3.) This was done during a time when the English language was at it’s most perfect state of perfection, as God ordained. Not the slang English as we speak today.

(II Peter 1:20-21) “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation (that is, they did not originate with man). For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

(II Timothy 3:16)” All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” God divinely inspired the original King James Bible in the most beautiful form of the English language.

4.) The Original Authorized King James Bible has stood the test of time !
5.) The Original Authorized King James Bible is said to be the most accurate (“supernaturally Identical to the Dead Sea Scrolls, ”Which were found in 1947 A.D. near the Dead Sea, and were actual copy’s of the Old Testament on parchment dated 100′s of years B.C.”). The devil got into the translations of the other Bibles after The Authorized King James Bible and watered them down and left out scriptures and even changed some of them. Some even took out the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ. If you use some of these other translations you are just as good as saying “they are ok, go ahead and use them too.” God would not leave his children in darkness especially in these End Times. Beware don’t let satan beguile and deceive you by these versions from the devil and Hell. I am sure you can understand and endure a few thee’s and thou’s to get the right spirit and interpretation from The Lord. Beloved this is not a light thing! This is very serious to God! You can do a study about this subject for more in depth information from the Internet. If these powerful reasons to use The Authorized King James Version of the Bible when quoting scripture are not enough for you. Why don’t you be like it says in Acts 17:11,“Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, because they searched the scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” In other words don’t just take my word for it,  or be like the people who say ” I pay my preacher to tell me what is going on”, but check it out for yourself. That is why everything that I teach I back it up with scriptures, because the last thing in the World that I want to do is to teach something that is not scriptural, and in fact I ask everyone to please show me anything that I teach that is not scriptural and I will change it and make it known. You need to get it right and use the right version. God is not the author of confusion! The devil is, watch out !!! Nothing short of Right is Right !!! You can’t even get the correct interpretation of Bible Prophecy unless you use the Authorized King James Version !
Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

FROM CREATION TO ETERNITY (with Chart)

AGE-OF-THE-EARTH-CHART-2021 (10)

It is absolutely, and extremely important, that you understand when these events took place and the future events that are soon to happen so you can understand the Bible as you read it. Then you can say I know what that passage of scripture is talking about, and then you can accurately explain it to others.“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” (II Timothy 2:2). When you understand this class you will know more truth than all the ungodly universities and their professors put together.

1.) 4,220 B.C. Creation, and Adam and Eve. God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit accomplished this great feat in six days not millions or billions of years. You can not believe in the Bible and evolution. ” And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1:26-27. This date can be calculated by adding up the years in the genealogies recorded in the Bible.(see the Age of the Earth Chart). God spoke creation into existence out of nothing. Adam was created out of the dust of the ground. “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7.

2.) 2,565 B.C. The great flood. “And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.” Genesis 7:6 “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the water from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.” Genesis 1:6-7. “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeeth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.” Genesis 7:11.The reason some people lived longer back then was because there was a water covering surrounding the earth that filtered out the ultra violet rays of the sun which causes us to age. At the time of the flood God removed it, and let it pour down upon the earth.

3.) 2,212 B.C. The birth of Abraham. ( The empire of Egypt-2100-1491 B.C.)

4.) 1,491 B.C. The Exodus from Egypt of the Israelites.

5.) 1,012 B.C. Construction of the Jewish Temple by Solomon.

6.) 586 B.C. Destruction of Solomon’s Temple by Babylon. ( Babylon’s Empire 606-536 B.C. ).

7.) 457 B.C. Commandment given to restore and build Jerusalem by Artaxerxes King of Persia, at the beginning of the seventy weeks of Daniel Chapter 9. (The Medo-Persian Empire 536-332 B.C.), ( The Empire of Greece 331 B.C.-221 B.C. under Alexander The Great).

8.) 4 B.C. Birth of Jesus Christ. ( The Roman Empire 146 B.C. – 400 A.D.)

9.) 26 A.D. Baptism of Jesus Christ. ( The end of the 69 weeks of Daniel 9.) This is when Jesus Christ the Messiah was anointed by the Holy Spirit to begin his public ministry and be crucified for the sins of the world.

10.) 30 A.D.- Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and his ascension to Heaven 40 days after he rose from the dead.

11.) 20?? A.D. The Covenant is confirmed by the anit-christ, and the last seven years begins.

12.) 20?? A.D. Three and a half years later the Jews begin their daily sacrifice in the rebuilt temple at Jerusalem (Daniel 8: 13,14).

13.) 20?? A.D. In the middle of the last seven years the anit-christ takes away the Jew’s daily sacrifice, and places the Abomination of Desolation, and proclaims himself God. This event triggers the Great Tribulation, or the last three and one half years, or 42 months, or 1,260 days, or the six trumpets, until Jesus resurrects and raptures the saved. (Daniel 9:27), ( Daniel Chapter 11), (Revelation Chapters 7-9), (Revelation Chapters 11-14). (Matthew 24:15,21,29,30) ( Mark 13, & Luke 21).

14.) 20?? A.D. Jesus appears and resurrects the saved and those still alive on earth and takes us to heaven at the Seventh Trumpet. ( I Thessalonians 4:16,17).

15.) The Marriage Super of The Lamb in Heaven, and the Seven Vials of Gods wrath is poured out upon the earth. This takes place during a 75 day time period. (Daniel 12:13,14) Also see Revelation Chapters 16-19

16.) The Battle of Armageddon. Jesus takes over the world, and destroys the armies of the anti-christ, and Jesus rules the world for 1,000 years. The antichrist is thrown into the lake of fire and the devil is chained and bound and thrown into the bottomless pit. ( a volcano?). (Revelation Chapters 19,20).

17.) After the 1,000 years are over the devil is let loose and goes about to raise an army to fight against Jesus and the saints camped at Jerusalem. This time God rains down fire on them and destroys them.

18.) THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT when all the unsaved dead are resurrected and judged. (Revelation 20.)

19.) God creates a new Heaven and Earth. Then the Heavenly City where God, and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and the saved live in paradise comes down on earth forever. ( Revelation Chapters 21 & 22).

Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT

Did you know that in  the Book of Psalms Chapter 136 it says”His mercy endureth forever” twenty six times? God loves you like a father loves his children. “Like as a father pitieth his children,so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.”(Psalm 103:13). “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion’s fail not. They are new every, morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him .” (Lamentations 3:22-24). When the sun comes up every morning, it is like a sign from God that his love and mercy washes away our darkness and our past sins and short comings and mistakes by the blood of Jesus Christ. (I John 1:7). “For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.”( Psalm 103:11). “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.”( Psalm 89:1). “I will  bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in thee Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”(Psalm 34:1-4).

Amen.

THANKSGIVING DAY PRAYER

Following a resolution of Congress, President George Washington proclaimed Thursday the 26th of November 1789 a day of “public thanksgiving and  prayer” devoted to “the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be.” Reflecting American religious practice, Presidents and Congresses from the beginning of the republic have from time to time designated days of fasting and thanksgiving (the Thanksgiving holiday we continue to celebrate on the third Thursday of November was established by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War). In setting aside a day for Thanksgiving, Washington established a non-sectarian tone for these devotions and stressed political, moral, and intellectual blessings that make self-government possible, in addition to personal and national repentance. Although the First Amendment prevents Congress from establishing a religion or prohibiting its free exercise, Presidents, as well as Congress, have always recognized the American regard for sacred practices and beliefs. Thus, throughout American history, Presidents have offered non-sectarian prayers for the victory of the military and in the wake of catastrophes. Transcending passionate quarrels over the proper role of religion in politics, the Thanksgiving Proclamation reminds us how natural their relationship has been. While church and state are separate, religion and politics, in their American refinement, prop each other up.

Thanksgiving Proclamation

Issued by President George Washington, at the request of Congress, on October 3, 1789

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation. Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:” Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favor, able interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other trangressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best. Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

How to Find God’s Will

Are you trying to make a decision about something in your life? Would you like to know God’s will about it before you make your decision? The Bible says in Psalm 37:4 “Delight thyself in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart”.God gives the very best to those that leave the choices up to him.Jesus said “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”(Matthew 6:33).Sometimes the Lord will let us make different choices in his will. According to your faith be it unto you.”(Matthew 9:29b). Sometimes the Lord will allow us to make wrong choices to hopefully teach us lessons from our mistakes so we can learn from them and grow spiritually and help others not to make the same type of mistakes. In fact everyone of us affects others around us. Even Judas was an example of what not to do.The absolutely first and most important test is the Word of God. If it is not according to the scriptures in the Bible don’t do it. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20). Here is the magic  formula to be prosperous and successful.“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8), “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you, than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8). The next way to know if something is God’s will for you, if you are not 100% sure, is to seek Godly counsel from people who you know,  who love the Lord and are living for him.”By their fruits ye shall know them.”(Matthew 7:20). Another way to know Gods will about something is by dreams, and visions, and prophecy’s.“For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man precieveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.”(Job 33:14-18). Another way to know God’s will is by open and closed doors, and circumstances, and conditions. “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it:” (Revelation 3:8a). Many times The Lord will give you a strong desire to do something this can be  a way that God has of getting you to do his will. Just make sure it goes according to his Word. Sometimes you can ask the Lord for a sign or a fleece, like in the book of Judges when Gideon asked the Lord for a sign. (Judges 6:1-40). Just remember if it is already in the Word, don’t expect the Lord to give you a sign to confirm something because he may not. This should be the last way to determine Gods will in a matter. Remember all of these ways to find Gods will need to be backed up by the WORD which is our guide, our measuring stick, our compass and map, whereby we determine all things.Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and alight unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

Amen.

IS TRUE HAPPINESS REALLY POSSIBLE ? (video & text)

http://youtu.be/Y88JtDNgScg

Someone said that True happiness cannot be found. Well it may be elusive for many, but the Bible says, “If ye know these things happy are ye if ye do them.” (John 13:17). Now that is a promise that you can count on from Jesus Christ himself! Sometimes it seems that we look for love in all the wrong places. Actually we shouldn’t be looking for love but looking to love. Maybe if we tried to make others happy, and put our own desires and pursuits for happiness on the back burner, then true happiness would pursue and overtake and find us. John 3:16 was God’s and Jesus’ part, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have ever lasting life.” and 1 John 3:16, is our part. “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and that we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” Wow, what an amazing concept! What a Revelation! Could we have been going about things all wrong for such a long time, and missing the whole point?  Let us try and seek not to be consoled, but to console. Let us try and not be selfish, but to be selfless. “Look not every man on his own things, but everyman also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” (Philippians 2:4, 5).” “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”(Galatians 6:2). We can never be satisfied by trying just to make ourselves happy. God didn’t make us that way. The only way we can find happiness is by finding Jesus and being right with God, and if we have hurt someone by our unloving, and unkind words and deeds, then we need to go to that person and make things right with them, and seek their forgiveness, and tell them that we are sorry, and then go to Jesus, and ask him to forgive us, and then we can find peace and happiness with God, and then we can help others to find the peace, and joy that Jesus brings, Amen? No peace without the Prince of Peace. If you think that you can find peace and true happiness without following this simple formula, then I want to tell you that you are deceiving yourself, and the temporary happiness that you think you have will not last. Don’t waste your time. Turn to Jesus now, he loves you more than you could ever know and he is waiting for you with open arms, if you will only turn around toward him, he will come running to you just like the father to the prodigal son.

Amen.

DON’T WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW

Take one day at a time. God gives you faith for the day. Faith for the hour.If you start thinking too far in the future it can get very trying to say the least. There is a certain peace that comes when we don’t worry about tomorrow. In fact Jesus said, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”( Matthew 6:34). There is enough to have to deal with today, instead of borrowing tomorrows care. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”(1 Corinthians 10:13). Just love the Lord right now and trust him for tomorrow. After all God lives in the eternal now where time does not exist, and so can we when we yield to His Spirit. Jesus gives us grace, and strength for the day, and the hour, and the minute, and the second, one second at a time. That’s why he commanded us to take no thought or worry about tomorrow. It’s not just a suggestion or a good idea. It’s a commandment from the Lord himself. “Put your hand in the hand of the man who walked on the water, and calmed the troubled sea. “See that ye be not troubled.” “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10a). Lord help us to learn to rest in you. So let us try it, we might like it.
