THE NAME OF JESUS

Some people ask “Why can’t you leave JESUS out of it? ” ‘Why do you have to use his name?” “Why cant’ you just say God,and speak of God’s love and do it in God’s name?” Well these are God’s conditions and not ours. JESUS is the only one you can approach God through. He is our intercessor, our High Priest.“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;“ (1Timothy 2:5). JESUS is the only one who ever died for our sins and rose from the dead and can give you power to do the same! JESUS is the only begotten Son of God.Born of a virgin.The Bible says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men ,where by we must be saved.” (Acts 4: 12).”JESUS saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).”And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” ( John 14:13). We are to pray in his name,cast out devils in his name,heal in his name,preach in his name. Without the name of JESUS CHRIST there is no power. Everything we have is in JESUS name. “Whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he will give it you.” ( John I6:23b). Expect miracles, and in the name of JESUS and you will have them! “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”(Matthew 1:21). Look how much emphasis the early disciples in the book of Acts put on the name of JESUS ! That’s all they preached and talked about,JESUS ! And that’s the name they did all those miracles in, JESUS ! And that’s the name they won so much of the world in, JESUS ! And that’s the name we will win it in too,JESUS ! It’s JESUS that counts. ”JESUS CHRIST the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”(Hebrews 13:8). JESUS is the most important name in all of creation! Without the name of JESUS you can’t get into heaven or out of hell ! There is something about that name. It is the most soothing, comforting, and peaceful name that I have ever heard. JESUS is the sweetest name I know, and he is just the same as his precious name.The devil and his demons hate the name of JESUS and flee from it. “That at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” ( Philippians 2:10,11). “And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and earth.”( Matthew 28:18). The Power of the name of JESUS is more power than all of man’s atomic and nuclear bombs put together, and the power of the sun, and all the power of all creation put together. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”(John 1:12). “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” ( Revelation 19:13). JESUS is the Word of God. “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” ( John 1:14).” for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Psalms 138:2b).“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”( Revelation 19:16). “Then Peter said, Sliver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth rise up and walk.” ( Acts 3:6).  “AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.” ( Acts 2:21).You can accomplish things in his name! Are you using the power he has given you through his name?

WHO DO YOU PRAY TO ?

 “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,” (Philippians 2:10 & 11a). Some people pray straight to God the Father. I think it is presumptuous to pray straight  to God. “Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”  (John 10:7-9). “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). We should pray to Jesus because in so doing we are praying to God and the Holy Spirit also at the same time. In fact God won’t hear or answer prayers any other way, except going through his Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” (James 2:19). You can begin your prayer “Dear Jesus”, and end your prayer by saying in “Your Precious Name Jesus”. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”(Acts 4:12). “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Hebrew 13:8).Jesus told his disciples to pray to The Father in His Name, because if he told them to pray to him it would have been a “hard saying” and they couldn’t have handled it. They didn’t even believe in him fully yet, when he said this to them in Matthew 6:9 and John 15:16. They didn’t know totally who he was yet. Only after he was crucified and died and rose from the dead did they fully believe that he was the Only Begotten Son of God, and one with God. “I and my Father are One.” (John 10:30). There are a lot of people named Jesus, especially in Mexico. So you can say Jesus Christ. God knows your heart and he knows which Jesus you are praying too, but you should  say, “Dear Jesus Christ” when you pray. Jesus made it clear how important names are in John 3:16 when he said, he was “The Only Begotten Son of God” There is only one “Only Begotten Son of God”. The rest of us are adopted sons and daughters of God when we receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour.  “But as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his Name.” (John 1:12). “ For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”. (1Timothy 2:5). Jesus is not only our Lord and Saviour, and King of Kings, but also our High Priest. “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15) In the Old Testament the High Priest would enter into the Holy of Holies in the Temple where the Ark of The Covent was and the Shekinah Glory of God abode there, and if the Lord was angry at the people because of their sins he would strike the High Priest dead and the other lower Priests would pull his body out which had a rope tied to it, because they were afraid to go into the presence of God. Can you imagine some Jew just walking in to the Holy of Holies and flipping back the immense curtain which separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of the Temple, and saying, Listen GOD, I want to talk to you about something. This is exactly what people are doing when they think that they can just pray straight to our Heavenly Father and not pray to Jesus our High Priest. You have to go through Jesus when you pray and praying to him is praying to God. ” he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; ” (John 14:9b). So if you want God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, (The Trinity) to hear and answer your prayers, then pray to Jesus Christ. I don’t know about you, but it makes me feel a whole lot closer to God, and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, by praying without ceasing, and trying to listen and talk to Jesus, than going around thinking that I can go directly to God, and then saying  “In Jesus Name” after praying. I have heard many preachers Self righteously start their prayers with “Heavenly Father, or Father God”, and say their whole prayer to God, and sometimes at the end of their prayer they will say, “In Jesus Name”. Who are we to go straight to God and pray to him? It would be better to start our prayers with “Dear Lord  Jesus Christ”, and end our prayers with “In Your Precious Name Jesus”. God, and Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit want us to get this right. It’s about time we did, don’t you think? “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30). “I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30). Jesus did not say that he and the Father are one and the same. Jesus was saying that he is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit in Unity of Spirit, in heart and thought. But he is the Only way to the Father. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). Look, this is the way it is. Who do you think you are? You don’t just go around Self righteously spouting off your prayers to God especially if you want to have them answered. You have got to go through Jesus because that is the way God wants it. This is his terms and conditions.  Sure Jesus told his Disciples to pray saying “Our Father which art in Heaven”, this is because they didn’t fully believe on him yet, and if he told them that they should just pray to him to reach the Father, they would not have been able to handle it. Like when Jesus said in John Chapter 6:54 “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day” Many of Jesus’s followers left him and said, “this is an hard saying ,who can bear it.” If this is to much of a hard saying for you, and you can not bear it then go ahead and say your prayer to God, but you better say in The Name of Jesus Christ when you finish going straight to God the Father, and I hope he will have mercy on you and hear your prayer because you didn’t know any better, and this was to much of a hard saying for you to bear. Jesus told his disciples “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.” ( John 16:12). Can you?

I believe that you were crucified on the cross and died for all my sins, and rose from the dead. Please forgive me of all my sins. THE YEAR OF JUBILEE !!!

In the Old Testament of the Bible, every fifty years was called the year of Jubilee. The year of Jubilee was a time of Liberation, and celebration, and rest. During the year of Jubilee, slaves were set free, debts were forgiven, and people would go back to the land that they owned 49 years before, and land holdings were let go. This was to demonstrate that God ultimately owned everything. The word Jubilee is derived from the Hebrew word jobel, which means “rams horn” which was used as a trumpet to announce to everyone that the year of Jubilee had begun. Most everyone could experience a year of Jubilee in their lifetime. “ And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed. For it is the jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. In the year of this jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession. And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour’s hand, ye shall not oppress one another:” (Leviticus 25:8-14)

 When Jesus was baptized and anointed by God and the Holy Spirit to begin his public ministry and became the Messiah which means the “Anointed One” the time of Jubilee was fulfilled.  “And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” ( Luke 4:16-19). He came to set the captive and slaves free from sin and death.

Say this prayer to be saved and enter into God’s permanent Jubilee: Dear Jesus, Please come into my heart and forgive me of all my sins. I now accept you as my Saviour, the only begotten Son of God. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.

 

Counsel and Advise

“Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.”  (1 Samuel 12:23,24). “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” (1 Samuel 15:23a). One of the main ways to find out God’s will is to Seek Godly Counsel.  (see “How To Find God’s Will”). Don’t be to proud to ask for some advise from someone you know has been down the same road that you are contemplating. First pray and ask Jesus to show you his will and then ask other Godly people who have a lot of experience, and have made a lot of mistakes themselves, and are well grounded in the Word. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” ( Proverbs 3:5,6). Get it confirmed by the Word. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20). Paul lost his life and his head by being stubborn against the Holy Ghost and Counsel of the brethren.  “And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.” “Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.” (Acts 21:4,13,14). Remember that experience is a better teacher, but often a bitter teacher. You only have one guaranteed chance in this life. Don ‘t flub it up! Get some counsel and advise! “For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.” (Proverbs 24:6).

WHY DOES GOD ALLOW DISASTERS AND CATASTROPHES ?

There is a reason for Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Earthquakes, Floods,and other Disasters and Catastrophes .We sometimes don’t understand why God allows these things to happen. We as believers are asked these questions by people who don’t know the Lord, and can’t understand why. Actually it is a chance for us to witness and minister to them. We need to stand strong in faith and show these people the love of Jesus by praying for them, and helping them to understand.” All things work together for good to them that love the Lord.”(Romans 8:28). Who can understand the ways of the Lord? Just believe that God is in control of every little thing. Jesus said “Not one sparrow shall fall, or one blade of grass shall die unless God allows it. And the very hairs of your head are all numbered”.(Matthew 10 & Luke 12). God is a loving, just, Holy, and pure God, and he has a purpose in everything, for everybody, and everything will work out for his purpose in the long run. As we get closer to the end, more and more disasters and catastrophes will come. It has been predicted by the Lord as a sign of the End Times. Sometimes he punishes the wicked, and, or releases the saved and receives them into Heaven, or both. Sometimes disasters and wars are man made. Remember there is life after death in a better place forever for the believer, and this life is so short and temporary. If the Lord takes a believer home it is so much better for them, and we will shortly see them again. “And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.  Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:2-5).  “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21).There may be many reasons that the Lord allows catastrophes to happen. Sometimes it’s to put the fear of God in everyone and help us to wake up and turn to Jesus! “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8,9). “For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?” (Romans 11:34a).”The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” (Psalm 111:10). A good healthy fear of the LORD is a good thing to have. Lord help us to be a witness of you’re love no matter what happens. Amen? ” we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8). “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:  nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;” (Philippians 1:19-25).

PROOF THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD ! Part 1

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: “(II Peter 1:19). Peter who walked with Jesus and lived with Jesus and saw him do all his miracles: said that he had a more sure way of believing than all the experiences that he had with Jesus personally. The more sure way of believing that Peter had, and was talking about is fulfilled prophecy. There are over 300 hundred prophecy’s about Jesus in the Old Testament. Here are just a few: “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”(Isaiah 7:14). Immanuel means; “God with us”. Jesus was born of a virgin: (Mary).“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1: 26-35). “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2) “NOW when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,” (Matthew 2:1). Daniel Chapter 9 is one of the most important, and amazing prophecy’s proving that Jesus is the Messiah. (see our class on Daniel Chapter 9 ). Isaiah Chapter 53, is all about Jesus. I don’t see how anybody especially a Jewish person can read this chapter and not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, the Messiah! Please read, and memorize this chapter, as it will greatly help you and increase your faith. The Jews took this chapter out of their Bible because it is so obvious that it is about Jesus, however when they found the Dead Sea Scrolls in the year 1947 A.D., written down hundreds of years before Christ, Low and behold the 53rd. Chapter was there with the rest of the Book of Isaiah. For some reason the Jewish people are really hard to wittiness to, and you have to really pray for them, because the devil really fights against their salvation. “And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. ” (II Corinthians 3: 13-15). The Jews are always quoting that verse in Deuteronomy 6:4 where it says; “Hear, Oh Israel : The Lord our God is one Lord.” However in the Hebrew text which this verse was originally written in, the Hebrew word actually used refers to the plural meaning of Lord, which would be actually saying the Lord’s our God are one. Any time you add “im” on a Hebrew word it makes it plural. Elohim means the plural form of the word God. In other words the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, the Trinity are one in Spirit and Unity, and they are also three different persons. A better English translation would have been the Lord’s our God are one. Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30). Jesus was not saying he was the Father, but that he was one in unity with the Father as well as the Holy Ghost. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7). Jesus is the Word. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14),You can actually know Jesus and be closer to him then his disciples were, through studying, and faith in his Word and fulfilled prophecy, and though the Holy Spirit. The 12 disciples didn’t even believe on him (except Peter and possibly James & John) until later in his ministry and after his resurrection, but you can get closer to him by increasing your faith by studying God’s Word, especially Bible Prophecy, a more sure way of knowing, as Peter said. Let these sayings sink down into your spiritual ears of your spiritual being. The Bible is like a great jigsaw puzzle. The purpose of this web site is to help you put the pieces together. Letting Go and Holding On

When is the right time to let go? This question might be something  we need to seek the Lord Jesus Christ and his  guidance on when we are faced with so much burden it feels over whelming. God’s word says; “casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (I Peter 5:7). If your daily life has become to heavy laiden with problems and burdens that keep you away from the peace and rest you have been given through Jesus, then maybe you have taken on more than the Lord wants you to carry. The Lord said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30). No amount of medication, drugs, alcohol can compare to the peace and rest Jesus Christ offers. He knows our frame , he knows our every weakness. He is personally acquainted with  our grief. “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:3-6). I don’t know about you, but I just want a simple life, with low stress. This is what Jesus offers us. If you have too much stress in your life, this can be very unhealthy for you, and you need to do something about it. Get rid of the problem, or problems, or rid yourself from the problem people. It has been said it is better to pray them out than to throw them out.” He that is able to receive this, let him receive it. Are you still seeking relief ? Maybe you should read this again. Turn to Jesus in prayer. He wants to help you because he loves you and cares about what you are going through. We are weak, but he is strong. Don’t let anything, or anyone steal your JOY !!!

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH FOR THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST CHURCH

1.) We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Begotten Son of The Living God,and that he was born of a virgin, and died for the sins of all mankind, and that he rose from the dead on the third day after he was crucified. Isaiah 7: 14 , John 3: 16, Romans 10: 9,10

2.) We believe in the Trinity, the Father ,the Son,and the Holy Ghost, The Holy Family of all Creation. Genesis Chapter 1, 1st John 5:7, John 1:14

3.) We believe that there is only Salvation through Jesus Christ by God’s Grace, through Faith in him, and his blood that he shed when he died for our sins, and that Salvation is not by our own works or our own righteousness. Ephesians 2:8,9, John 14:6, Titus 3:5, Acts 4:12.

4.) We believe in Creation in 6 days by God, and Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Just like the Bible says in Genesis Chapter 1.We don’t believe in the theory (lie ) of Evolution.

5.) We believe in being filled and over flowing with the Holy Ghost.(Acts 1:8) to give us power to witness for Jesus.

6.) We believe that every Christian Believer is called to be a witness for Jesus Christ. Mark 16:15

7.) We believe in the Bible, and that it is the inspired Word of God. Isaiah 8:20

8.) We believe in following Jesus Christ only, and that he is our Saviour and King of Kings. We are not a part of any denomination, or cult. We are a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ only!

9.) We believe that our Salvation is Eternal, and that we can never lose it. Hebrews 13:5, John 10: 27-31, John 6:37, Jeremiah 3:14, Ecclesiastes 3:14.

10.) We believe in fellowship together ,and having communion often and that the Lord doesn’t want us to put our emphasis on a building other than as a meeting place, because God’s people are the Church. Acts 7:48, John 4: 23,24

11.) We believe in Healing by faith in Jesus Christ. Mark 9:23, Isaiah 53:6

12.) We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back soon to rule the world! Matthew 24.

HONOUR

Respect, Esteem, Recognition, Praise, and Glory are all words that go along with and define the term Honour. So many times the Bible teaches us something different than what the world teaches us. This is what Jesus said about Honour; “How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” (John 5:44). Be careful if you seek after worldly honour from man, because you might get it. “And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.” (Psalm 106:15). In fact Jesus said, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” (Luke 6:26).If you value the praise of men you better catch it quick while it is passing, because it is soon gone! You will find out to achieve this honour, and recognition that they usually want you to compromise your beliefs, and do, and teach things their way. You will find out that this type of honour does not give you the self-gratification that you are seeking after. “not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;” (Ephesians 6:6) “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever” (1John 2:16,17). They even call it an “Honorary” Degree, or a P.H.D. (piled higher and deeper). Jesus was the ultimate example,“who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:6-11). So be careful and don’t fall into the devils trap of seeking Honour from man.It won’t turn out like you think it will. Seeking Honour from God is a good thing to do, but you will probably be “despised and rejected of men” like Jesus was. (Isaiah 53). “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.” (John 15:18-21).  “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” (Matthew 5:10-12).“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12). “By humility and the fear of the Lord
are riches, and honor, and life.“. (Proverbs 22:4).
