MATTHEW CHAPTER 24

Verse 1, 2) And Jesus went out and departed from the Temple: and his disciples came unto him for to show him the buildings of the Temple. And Jesus said unto them. See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you. There shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down.” Jesus had just finished blasting the scribes and Pharisees and Sadducees in Matthew chapter 23, telling them that they were hypocrites and blind guides, and serpents, and vipers. Then he left the Temple and his disciples came to him wanting to show him some beautiful buildings that were built as part of the Temple. Jesus told them that there wouldn’t be one stone of the Temple that would not be thrown down. This prophecy from Jesus was fulfilled in 70 A.D. when Titus the Roman General marched on Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple, and when the Temple burned, the gold in the Temple melted through the cracks of the bricks, and Titus ordered his soldiers to take each stone and scrape the gold off. This fulfilled what Jesus predicted. The earthen retaining wall still remains today. It is called the Wailing Wall were Jews go to pray, but was not part of the Temple itself.

Verse 3 -5) And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately. saying tell us. when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming. and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them. Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name. saying, I am Christ and shall deceive many.” Jesus warns us many times not to be deceived. There are so many false religions. And cults, and isms, and false prophets, and false churches, out there trying to deceive people. That is why you really need to know the word so you won’t be carried away by some false doctrine. If they speak not according to this word. it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20b). “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you. let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8).

Verse 6-8) And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass. but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines. and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” The Bible tells us; “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse. deceiving, and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:13). Things are not going to get better as evolution teaches, but worse and worse as evil men are inventing more and more ways to destroy themselves and the world. Jesus doesn’t want you to be worried as things get worse, because that means the return of Jesus is getting closer and closer. Jesus warned us of all these plagues and pestilences that are coming upon the world seemingly out of nowhere even now, such as HIV, SARS, H1N1, Enterovirus, Ebola, zika virus and many other pestilences which are coming upon the world, which is another sign of the end times, along with all the devastating earth quakes we are having around the world like never before. Many of these plagues and pestilences are said to be created by evil men themselves.

Verse 9-12) Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted. and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for my namesake. And then shall many be offended. and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise. and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound. the love of many shall wax cold.” Persecution of believers has been around every since Jesus was upon the earth during his public ministry, but it will be getting worse as the anti-christ and his forces try to destroy God’s people and the truth that they teach. These verses are becoming more and more true and fulfilled as the Time of The End draws closer.

Verse 13But he that shall endure unto the end the same shall be saved.” Some false doctrine teachers try to use this verse to say you can lose your salvation, if you don’t endure unto the end. The fact is, you have to rightly divide the word of truth. (II Timothy 2:15 ). You can’t just take one or two verses and make a whole doctrine out of it. You have to take the whole Bible and all the Scriptures on a particular subject to understand the full meaning of it. Yes those that endure unto the end will be saved and rescued when the Lord appears and takes us up at the rapture, but so will also those that don’t endure because they were killed, or they backslid, and denied the Lord. There are also other things to be saved from besides Hell, like being saved from being raised to everlasting shame and contempt, because of denying the Lord, or not serving him. Everyone who has been saved will be taken up when the Lord appears.

Verse 14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” This sign is certainly being fulfilled now by satellite, T.V., Radio, word-of-mouth, print, and Internet so that the world will have the message and be without excuse, because there are still many who have not heard the Gospel even once. Why should anyone hear the gospel twice when some have never even heard it once?

Verse 15) “When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet. stand in the holy place, ( whoso readeth, let him understand).” The word “when” is a keyword to remember as we go forth into our study of Matthew Chapter 24. Mark Chapter 13, and Luke Chapter 21 are also accounts of this teaching from Jesus. The ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION is more clearly brought out in our teachings on the book of Daniel, and Revelation. Jesus said,”for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” (Luke 16:15b). So this particular abomination is the worst ever of all abominations and it makes all the other abominations desolate in comparison. Also the anti-Christ and the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION will outlaw and seek to destroy all other religions. It will stand in the Temple. Many believe that the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION may be some type of a computerized robot image of the anti christ that will speak and cause all who do not worship this image to be killed.( Revelations 13:15).

Verse 16-20) “Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the house top not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child. and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your fight be not in the winter. neither on the sabbath day.” The word “then” is another keyword that goes along with ”when” in verse 15. In other words when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION standing in the Temple, which will probably be a widely publicized event. Then it is time to flee, especially at this time in Jerusalem. The Jews strictly enforce the Old Testament laws of the Sabbath day, and no travel will be allowed. Also it will be hard for those who are pregnant or have babies at this time.

Verse 21) For then shall be great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time. no,nor ever shall be.” The word “then” in this verse is another keyword that goes along with “when” in verse 15, and the word “then” in verse 16. In other words when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION standing in the Temple, then it is time to flee, and then the great tribulation begins, the last 3 and 1/2 years or 42 months, or 1,260 days. (Remember the Hebrew calendar has twelve 30 day months).

Verse 22) And except those days should be shortened. there should no flesh be saved: but for the elects sake those days shall be shortened.” The Great Tribulation will begin a time of trouble that the world has never seen, followed by an even worse time of trouble, the seven vials of the wrath of God. The elect are the saved. This time of trouble will be shortened for their sakes to 3 and 1/2 years because they are going to be rescued at the rapture immediately after the 3 and 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation before the seven vials of the wrath of God begins.

Verse 23-28) Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightnings cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together. If anybody told me that Jesus had come back, and was in a secret place in the desert. I would tell them that was not true, because if Jesus had come back I wouldn’t be here. I would be in heaven at the marriage supper of the Lamb in my new body and having a great time at the biggest party and family reunion in history! Jesus warns us again to not be deceived by false prophets and false Christ’s even though the false prophet will do signs and wonders, even pulling fire out of the sky And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” (Revelation 13:13,14). When Jesus appears and takes us to heaven it will be fast like a twinkling of an eye, like the lightnings, like the Eagles (the saved) attacking a carcass,( Jesus). Have you ever seen how fast eagles can swoop down and pick up a rabbit and be gone with it?In a moment in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (I Corinthians 15:52).

Verse 29,30) Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken; And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Does it say immediately before the tribulation? NO! IT SAYS IMMEDIATELY AFTER !!! You can’t get any clearer than that! Then why do most churches today teach the dangerous false doctrine of Pre-Tribulation Rapture? The Lord has spent so much time in the Scriptures trying to show us the truth yet people don’t get it because they don’t search the Scriptures for themselves because they say this is what we pay the preacher for, and he doesn’t get it himself, because he is taking the word of someone else that taught him. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11). Are you more noble? Do you search the Scriptures daily to see if these things are so? So Jesus said; Immediately after the Tribulation, which lasts for 3 and 1/2 years, 42 months, 1,260 days, which begins the day when the abomination of desolation will be placed in the Temple. Then he will appear in the clouds of heaven immediately after The Great Tribulation which begins when we see the abomination of Desolation. Remember the Great TRIBULATION lasts 42 months, or 1,260 days and then the resurrect dead bodies of all the saved and those that are alive at this time will be taken up in the Rapture, and our bodies will be changed, and Jesus will take us all who have been saved to heaven, and all the people still alive on earth will mourn when they see Jesus appear and all the saved people disappear because they missed the rapture, and the wrath of God is coming upon them. The word “thenis another keyword. Immediately after the Tribulation in verse 29 “then” shall appear the sign of the Son of Man with Jesus coming in the clouds of heaven. So Jesus appears and takes the saved to heaven at this time.

Verse 31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet. and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” This is talking about the seventh trumpet in Revelation Chapter 10:7, which is the Rapture, which means “The Gathering Together”. “ but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”

Verse 32) Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh; So likewise ye when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” The fig tree is talking about Israel. Even today the fig tree is a symbol of Israel. Israel became a nation again for the second time on May 14, 1948. Israel was for the most part a barren desert land, but since Israel became a nation again it has become a very fruitful country in fact it is one of the top exporters of fruit in all the world. He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud and fill the face of the world with fruit.” (Isaiah 27:6). “The fig tree”, Israel, is definitely being built up and putting forth leaves. So the harvest, or rapture is near. “When the Lord shall build up Zion. (Israel) he shall appear in his glory.” (Psalm 102:16) These are the very words that Jesus spoke in Matthew 24 verse 30, “appear” and “glory.” “I will open rivers in high places and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water. I will plant in the wilderness the Cedar, the shit-tah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together: That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it. Produce your cause. saith the Lord: bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. Let them bring forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.” (Isaiah 41:18-22). Another amazing prophecy about Israel being built up as a sign of the soon coming of the Lord is found in (Isaiah 11:11-14).“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Path’ -ros, and from Cush, and from E’-Iam, and from Shi’-nar, and from Ha’-math, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcast of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. The envy also of E’-phra-im shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah. shall be cut off: E’-phra-im shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex E’-phra-im. But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Phi-lis’-tines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon E’-dom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.” The second time God brought back the Jews to Israel was in 1948. This is when Israel became a nation again after they were scattered throughout the world, after Rome destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A. D. Hitler persecuted and killed so many Jews which drove them out of Europe and all over the world to come to Israel. The first time the Jews were scattered by Babylon in 586 B.C. Until Artaxerxes king of Persia gave the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem in 457 B.C. And the Jews came back to rebuild the street and wall of Jerusalem.( see our Daniel 9 Class). Also today there are no more south and north tribes called E’-phra-im and Judah, but Israel is one nation today. In verse 14 it says, “But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Phi-lis’tines toward the west.” This amazing prophecy was fulfilled in 1967 during the 6 day war when the Israeli jets flew over the Gaza Strip ( the Philistines toward the West), and attacked the Egyptian Air Force and destroyed it, and destroyed their tanks and trucks and armies in the Sinai desert as they were on their way to attack Israel. God spoke through Isaiah around 750 BC about jet airplanes! The fig tree, Israel, is definitely being built up. This is an important sign of the end and the coming of Jesus Christ.

Verse 33) So likewise ye,when you shall see all these things know that it is near even at the doors.” Jesus is coming soon! It is time to get ready. When someone we really like is coming over to visit us we get all excited, and get our house cleaned up to greet them, and then they arrive at our door step and we hurry to open the door and receive them. How much more should we be like this for the Lord? We know he is on his way. “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)

Verse 34) Verily I say unto you. This generation shall not pass until all these things be fulfilled.” This generation has seen most of these things come to pass, wars, earthquakes, famines, pestilences, the Gospel being preached worldwide, but there is still a lot to go. The next major sign we’re looking for is the confirming of the covenant. Which starts the last seven years, and the Abomination of Desolation being placed in the soon to be rebuilt Jewish Temple at Jerusalem, which starts the last 3 1/2 years or 42 months or 1,260 days. Remember these time periods are based on the Hebrew calendar of twelve 30 day months in a year. So the generation that sees all these events happen will not pass away until Jesus comes back.

Verse 35 and 36) Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” God is going to make a new heaven, and a new earth, and the old heaven and earth will pass away, but Jesus’s Word will never pass away! Only God knew when Jesus was coming back, when Jesus spoke these words to his disciples“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:9-11).

Verse 37-39) But as the days of No’-e were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that No’-e entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Things got pretty bad in Noah’s day, so bad, that God wanted to destroy men off of the face of the earth, which he did in the flood, but spared Noah and his family to carry on the human race. So Jesus said people would be carrying on just like in the days of Noah and knew not what is getting ready to happen to them.

Verse 40-42) Then shalt two be in the field; the one shall be taken and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill, the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” When the rapture happens all the saved people will instantly disappear and be taken to Heaven. Can you imagine the shock and chaos this will cause? What if the Pilot and Co-pilot were raptured during their flight?

Verse 43-51But know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meet in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And show began to smite his fellow-servants. and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he look if not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Some people who are raptured will be in shame when they see Jesus. Don’t let it happen to you. Would you like to hear the Lord say to you: “Well done thou good and faithful servant” enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” ? Then just be a good and faithful servant until the Lord takes you.And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” (Daniel 12:2,3) Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”  (Matthew 6:19-21).

Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

WHEN IS JESUS COMING BACK ?

http://youtu.be/AaFbRyXHuBk

Jesus said “No man knows the day or hour of his coming. No not the angels of Heaven but my Father only. “( Matthew 24: 36 ), but he did give us certain signs like earthquakes which are certainly on the rise. It’s like the earth itself is giving out a warning with all these earthquakes happening all over.(Matthew 24: 3-7).When we see that the covenant is confirmed by the anti christ, then we know that there are only 7 years left ( Daniel 9:27), and when we see the abomination of desolation standing in the rebuilt Jewish temple in Jerusalem, then we know that there are only 3 and one half years left, or 42 months, or 1,260 days until Jesus comes and raptures his saved.(Matthew 24:15, see our classes on Daniel & Revelation, and Matthew 24). It seems like Israel is in the news every day. God is certainly working out these events to fulfill his end time prophecy’s. Beloved it is an exciting time to be alive, and see all these things unfolding and coming to pass. Let us live every day to the fullest for Jesus. After all what is your life? It is but a vapor in eternity. (James 4: 14). We don’t know how much time each of us has here. So do what you can where you are for Jesus with what you have. Jesus said.”If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.(Luke 9:23,24 ). Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.   Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;   who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.   Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?  And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:  even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,  and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:   that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12). I’ll see you here or there or in the air. Before I go give me one more soul, or better still a lot more souls!

Amen.

CARS IN THE BIBLE

Did you know that the Bible predicted cars in the Old Testament over 2600 years ago?  “The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken. The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.” ( Nahum 2:3,4). If this is not talking about cars I don’t know what else it could be. The Lord gave Nahum a vision of the future, and he descibed it as best as he could. The Bible is truly an amazing book.

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

Daniel Chapter 9

Verse 1) IN the first year of Da-ri’-us the son of A-has-u-e’-rus’ of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chal-de’-ans; Daniel was still a prisoner of war in Babylon when the Medes took power.

Verse 2) In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish 70 years in the desolation’s of Jerusalem. Daniel was reading the prophecy of Jeremiah in Chapter 25:11 “And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon 70 years.” Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple in 586 B.C. Daniel received this prophecy in the first year of Darius the king of the Medes in 536 B.C. He realized from reading the prophecy of Jeremiah that the end of captivity for the Jews was coming soon.

Verse 3-19) And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; We have sinned and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: Neither have we hearkened unto to thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whether thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him; Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him. And he has confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem. As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth. Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his work’s which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice. And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten the renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly. O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake. O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolation’s, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for  our righteousness, but for thy great mercies. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, harken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city, and thy people are called by thy name.

Verse 20-23) And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God; Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give the skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and  I am come to show thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. The Prophet Daniel prayed a powerful heartfelt prayer to the Lord and took upon himself to represent his people Israel, and ask for God’s forgiveness for all the people of Israel. God sent Gabriel who also announced the birth of Jesus Christ to give him this following very important message and prophecy from God.

Verse 24) Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. The Angel Gabriel tells Daniel that there will be 70 weeks for Daniel’s people the Jews, and Jerusalem, to end sins, make reconciliation for iniquity, establish everlasting righteousness, and seal up, ( or finish) the vision and prophecy, and to anoint Jesus the most Holy King in Israel. The word of week comes from the Hebrew word “Shabuwa”, which means a period of seven years. This Bible verse found in Genesis 29:27 makes this point clear “Fulfill her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years. And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.” So you see how a week is seven years. 70 weeks therefore means 70×7 = 490 years. So the Angel tells Daniel that the Jews have 490 years to stop sins and anoint  Jesus Christ the most Holy, as their King at Jerusalem.

Verse 25) Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall even in troublous times.  The Lord wants you to understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore it to build Jerusalem, which was given in 457 B.C. By king Artaxerxes of Persia that there would be a time period of 7 weeks = 49 years, and three score (a score is 20) and 2 weeks. This brings us to a total of 69 weeks, or 7 + 62 = 69, or 483 years which is 69 x7. In other words the Angel Gabriel tells us in his message from God that there would be a time period of 483 years from the time that commandment went forth to restore build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince. The word Messiah in Hebrew means “the anointed one”. In Greek it comes from the word “Krisos”which means “Christ”. What happened exactly 483 years after the commandment was given by king Artaxerxes of Persia to restore and rebuild Jerusalem? “Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, and the heavens were opened and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove, and landed on Jesus, and a voice came from Heaven, which said,” Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. ( Luke 3:21-23). This is when Jesus was anointed by God to begin his public ministry. Thus the Anointed One, the Messiah.  This happened in 26 A.D. .This is truly an amazing prophecy, predicting the exact year when Jesus was baptized and received his anointing to begin his public ministry as the Messiah, The Son of God, to die for our sins.

Verse 26) And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolation’s are determined. 62 weeks after the seven weeks (when the street and the wall were finished) Jesus the Messiah was crucified in 30 A.D.(after the seven and 62 weeks), but not for himself he died for us. The people of the prince that shall come (notice the small “p” on prince) is talking about the anti-Christ, in specific here it is talking about the Romans who are part of the devil’s people( the people of the prince that shall come) who have been around ever since Cain killed his brother Able. The Romans destroyed the city and the Temple in 70 A.D. When Titus the Roman General attacked Jerusalem and crucified around a million Jews, as Jesus predicted would happen. “ The end thereof shall be with a flood”, this is referring to the great amount of Roman soldiers that destroyed Jerusalem. and the floods of ungodly men me afraid”. (Psalm 18:4b). “ Unto to the end of the war desolation’s are determined.” This is talking about the spiritual war that we fight everyday against the devil and his demons. There will be great destruction’s and desolation’s until the end of the war when Jesus takes over the world.

Verse 27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the over spreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Here is the last seven years, or 70th week. The “he” that shall confirm the covenant is talking about the antichrist, or “the prince that shall come” in verse 26. A covenant is some sort of an agreement that will allow the Jews to rebuild their temple and re-Institute the daily sacrifices, since they don’t believe in Jesus and accept him and his forgiveness for sin. Therefore they are bound by the Old Testament laws of animal sacrifice for atonement for sins. The anti-Christ will confirm this covenant. This event will start the last seven years. In the middle of the last seven years he will take away the daily sacrifice and place the abomination of desolation, until the wrath of God is poured out upon his followers and the devil is thrown into the bottomless pit and bound and chained for 1,000 years, and the Antichrist and the false prophet are thrown into the Lake of fire. ( see our classes on Revelation chapter  7-20).

THE LAST 7 YEARS OR 70th WEEK

DANIEL CHAPTER 11

Verse 1)Also in the first year of Da-ri’-us the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him. This appears to be an Angel speaking. Possibly Gabriel who had given the prophecy of Daniel chapter 9 to Gods prophet Daniel.

Verse2-4) And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Gre’- ci-a. And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled; for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. This prophecy was written in 536 B.C. The three kings in Persia were Cyrus, Cambyses, Darius, and the fourth was Xerxes, the richest and most powerful of the Persian kings. He invaded Greece but was defeated at Salamis. These prophecy’s were written over 200 years before there was a Greek Empire. The Greek Empire was founded in 331 B.C. By Alexander the Great. At his death the Greek Empire was divided up between his four main Generals. They ruled from Egypt, Turkey, Syria, and Greece.”Not to his posterity’ refers to the fact that Alexander’s empire was not given to any of his relatives to take over, neither did he dictate who should rule after him.

Verse 5-20)These verses refer to the different kings and their different actions from the remains of Alexander’s empire until the anti-christ arises.

Verse 21) And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. The anit-christ is a vile person because he is possessed by the devil himself. The anti-christ will not be given the honour of the kingdom. Could this mean he will come to power by voter fraud, or by lies and false promises, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries?

Verse 22) And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the Covenant. The anti-christ will have great armies to take over those who oppose him and even the prince of the Covenant. This could be talking about the one who wrote the covenant that he confirmed in Daniel 9:27, which starts the last seven years.

Verse 23) And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully; for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. He works his way in with deceit through minority’s.

Verse 24) He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil , and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time. He will come in deceitfully even on the most wealthy country and countries, not like previous dictators who came in and took power by force. He shall use socialism and distribute the riches to the poor, and give out ultimatums for a time (a year?).
Verse 25) And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to do battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him. There will be nations that war against the anti-christ and his armies. These devices could be spiritual such as witch craft, or electronic magnetic pulses (E.M.P’s) which will knock out electronics and computers, causing great confusion, and chaos, and collapse of whole nations and armies.

Verse 26) Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain. This could be referring to betrayals which will take place by nations whom he supports and backs.

Verse 27) And both these kings hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed. This sounds like the United Nations, speaking lies that do not prosper at one table. This verse also shows us how that ultimately God is in control, and has an appointed time for the end.

Verse 28)Then shall he return into his own land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land. The anti-christ will do great exploits and conquer many, and in his heart he is against the covenant, because he wants to proclaim himself as God.

Verse 29-30)At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter. For the ships of Chit’-tim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant; so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that  forsake the holy covenant. The ships of Chit’-tim refers to Britain who will send their ships, and possibly air ships also against the anti-christ. He will conspire and have intelligence with them that are against the covenant and the Jewish daily sacrifices. Possibly the Muslims.

Verse 31) And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. The anti-christ will have the force of his armies on his side and he will make the Jews stop their daily sacrifices and he will place the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION. This event will start the last three and one half years,The Great Tribulation period. (See our class on Matthew 24).

Verse 32) And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. He will lie and flatter and corrupt the people who are also against the covenant and the Jewish sacrifices in the Temple. The people who know Jesus will be doing mighty miracles and leading many to the Lord.

Verse 33) And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. For 1,260 days the Christians will be under heavy persecution while they witness to the world about what is going on.

Verse 34) Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. The Holy Spirit will help the saved through these times, and the Lord will raise up people to help us, and many will come to the saved believers for help, but be careful that they aren’t spy’s seeking a reward for turning you in.

Verse 35) And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. Many believers will be killed, to try, and to purge, and to prepare us to meet the Lord.

Verse 36)And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. (II Thessalonians 2:3,4) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Verse 37) Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. He doesn’t regard any god but himself, nor have a desire for women, or care about their desires.

Verse 38,39) But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain. The god of forces could be talking about nuclear power, which he will heavily invest into and use( see Revelation Chapter 8 & 9).He shall divide the land for gain, (spread the wealth around) to gain supporters.Sounds like Socialism  ?

Verse 40) And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. The anit-christ will be under many attacks.

Verse 41) He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even E’-dom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. The glorious land is Israel. These Arab countries and their leader will escape out of his hand. Possibly because of being on his side against the covenant and the Jewish daily sacrifice.

Verse 42-44) He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Lib’-yans and E-thi-o’-pi-ans shall be at his steps. But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. He will subdue Egypt and take power over their wealth. With great anger and fury will he go after all who oppose him. Woe unto the inhablitors of the earth, and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth, that he hath but a short time. ( Revelation 12:12b)

Verse 45) And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. He will place his palace between the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea and sit in the Temple proclaiming himself god and no one will be able to help him when Jesus comes.
