ARE YOU TEACHABLE ?

“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”  (II Timothy 2:2). “Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”(Matthew 18:3b). “as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”(I Peter 2:2). If you want to learn anything you have to be teachable, which is humbling. If you think you know better and you can’t back it up with facts, and scriptures you need to be quiet, and humble, and learn, and listen so you can grow in knowledge and grow spiritually. You could miss out on a real blessing and a learning experience. Sometimes it’s better to just humbly be quiet and listen even if you think you know better, because you might actually learn something new that you didn’t even know before. “Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.” (Proverbs 17:18). Someone once told me, “I would agree with you, but then we would both be wrong.” What arrogance, especially when the person who said that was wrong and unscriptural in some of his beliefs and teachings which he could not back up with scriptures. So be TEACHABLE, be HUMBLE, be SUBMISSIVE, so you can receive a blessing. Amen? “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” (Hebrews 13:17). “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”(James 4:7-10).

HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD

THE LORD IS SPEAKING. ARE YOU LISTENING? THIS  MESSAGE IS GOOD EVERYDAY.

HEARING FROM THE LORD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON TO LEARN, AND IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON THAT WE NEED TO TEACH TO OTHERS ESPECIALLY TO OUR CHILDREN AND NEW CHRISTIANS. We need to learn how to pray and talk to God, by praying to Jesus his Son and the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and how to listen to him most of all. You wouldn’t just go in front of a King and start asking for things and then turn around and leave. “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted, among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”(Psalm 46:10). “And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind and earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire: but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.” (I Kings 19:11,12). “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21). If you have faith and you are in the spirit, when you ask the Lord for an answer you can take the first thing that comes to you. First impressions are usually from the Lord, if we are sincerely seeking him. There needs to be special times when we have desperate prayer to the Lord, when you cry out to him with your whole heart, and on your face alone with God, and not just on your knees, but with tears and sincere desperation, and even prostrate yourself before him. “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:12,13). Jesus said, to enter into your closet and pray in secret. “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet,and when thou hast shut thy door,pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. “ (Matthew 6:6).The Lord will speak to you in a still small voice,and other ways also. Sometimes he will speak to you with a dream or a vision. “For God Speaketh once,yea twice,yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream,in a vision of the night,when deep sleep falleth upon men,in slumberings upon the bed;Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from him. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.”(Job 33:14-18). “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20).You have to check everything out by the Word. True Revelations from God will not contradict the Bible ! ! ! The Lord did not stop speaking after he gave the Book of Revelation to John. God’s broadcasting station is always on, we just need to learn how to tune into it. The Lord is always trying to speak to us and show us new things. He even speaks to us through his creation, but don’t worship the creation more than the Creator. “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20). One time God even made a  donkey to speak.  “And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.  And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. And God’s anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the Lord stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him. And the ass saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way. But the angel of the Lord stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side. And when the ass saw the angel of the Lord, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall: and he smote her again. And the angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. And when the ass saw the angel of the Lord, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam’s anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff. And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?  And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.  And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay. Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.  And the angel of the Lord said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me: and the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive. And Balaam said unto the angel of the Lord, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again. And the angel of the Lord said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.”(Numbers 22:20-35). The Lord spoke to me one time through a Television show. It was about a guy with my same name who had two kids which I had two at this time. He was an Armored car operator, which I was at the time. Some bad guys had kidnapped his wife & kids to get him to deliver the money to them. I saw this show when I came home from work one day, and was so amazed that the Lord went to all this trouble to speak to me through this T.V. show, that I quit my job the next morning. Shortly after that the Armored car was involved in a robbery and shoot out and one of the drivers was killed. This happened on the same route that I took everyday, and it could have been me, I’m glad I listened to the Lord. So be on the look out, and be alert and tuned into God, He wants to speak to you today. Will you make time to listen? Remember in order to hear from the Lord , you have got to get away from all the hustle and bustle and noise and get alone and get quiet and pour out your heart to him and then get quiet and listen. He will speak to you. Remember praying to Jesus is praying to God. “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (John 10:9). Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)  “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.” (John 16:12). TAKE TIME FOR PRAYER AND THE WORD

Jesus said “Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6).“My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me.”(John 10:27). Do you hunger and thirst to learn God’s truths from his Word? Or is there always something keeping you away? It is the Devil’s job to keep us away from really getting into the Word and prayer. Beloved I say this unto you, out of love and concern. We need to ask ourselves are we really that sheepy or do we follow afar off from the Good Shepherd and get lost from him and get caught in the rocks and crannies and brambles where the wolves can get us? I hope you spend time with the Master praying and feasting on his Word daily. There is a story in the Bible; “Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” (Luke l0: 38-42). How about you? Have you chosen that good part that shall not be taken away? Do you sit at Jesus’s feet and learn from him the words he has to say to you? We have to make time, to take time for prayer, and God’s Word, We take time to eat shouldn’t we take time to feed our spirits every day.”Neither have I gone back from the commandments of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.”( Job 23:12).

REAL FATHERS

This Fathers Day, we need to first of all remember our Heavenly Father, and give him honor and praise for all that he has done for us. He created Jesus Christ first of all, and then the Holy Spirit, Revelation 3:14,and then he created all of the world, and Adam and Eve in six days.God said, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee,and I ordained thee” (Jeremiah 1:5a). “CHILDREN,  obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. HONOUR THY FATHER AND MOTHER; which is the first commandment with promise; THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH THEE, AND THOU MAYEST LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH.”  (Ephesians 6: 1-3). Isn’t it amazing how God puts feelings of love and concern for our children in us? “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.”(Psalm 103:13).There are so many lessons we can learn about God from being a father. “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” (Malachai 4:6). Being a father is one of the most important jobs a person can have. You have been intrusted by the Lord to raise up your children in the ways of the Lord, and their future is literally in your hands. It is an awesome responsibility. “I have no greater joy than to know that my children walk in truth.” (III John 1:4).God told Moses, “What is that in thy hand?” Your children are in your hands, and they will turn out, and grow up to be what you have trained them. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 ). Time spent with your children teaching them the Word of God is never wasted ! “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”(Proverbs 22:6) “Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old. The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.”(Proverbs 23:22,24). In the eyes of God, real fathers are not always the ones that physically begat a child, but real fathers are the ones that rise children to know the Lord, and his ways.So be a faithful father, full of faith, and you will surely hear the Lord say to you “Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”(Matthew 25: 21). If your father has gone on to be with the Lord, you can ask the Lord to send him your love and a special hug from you, because you will see him again. And you can honor him by remembering him, and all the good things and times. “ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise think on these things.”(Philippians 4:8). Remember to love and honour your father while you can, and fathers remember to love your Heavenly Father and your children while you can. I am the way the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”(John 14:6),

ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN ! ! !

Someone asked; why do you have to always use the name of Jesus? Aren’t Buddha, and Hindu, and Mohammed, and all these other religions all trying to reach the same God? Well they are trying to reach their version of Heaven, but true Christianity teaches us that God is reaching out to man through his Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, and not man through his good works trying to attain God and Heaven. The Bible teaches us “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”( Ephesians 2:8,9). In fact Jesus himself said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”(John 14:6).These are God’s terms and conditions. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16).The fact is, that you could never be good enough to go to Heaven. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” (Titus 3:5). “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Isaiah 64:6). “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6). “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins,
even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”  (Jeremiah 17:9-10). “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23). Jesus said; If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.” (John 15:22). In other words if someone hasn’t heard about Jesus and what he did for them, then they are not accountable. That is why Jesus gave us the great commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, THE GOOD NEWS to everyone. (Mark 16:15). That is why we teach and preach and live in the Name of Jesus Christ! “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. “(Acts 4:12). “The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. “(I John 1:7b). Only through faith in Jesus Christ and his shed blood for you to take away your sins; can you go to Heaven, by God’s Grace. GRACE is a Gift Received At Christ’s Expense. You can never be to bad for Jesus to save you, only to good, by thinking that you could save yourself by your own good works, and that you don’t need Jesus.

THE NAME OF JESUS

Some people ask “Why can’t you leave JESUS out of it? ” ‘Why do you have to use his name?” “Why cant’ you just say God,and speak of God’s love and do it in God’s name?” Well these are God’s conditions and not ours. JESUS is the only one you can approach God through. He is our intercessor, our High Priest.“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;“ (1Timothy 2:5). JESUS is the only one who ever died for our sins and rose from the dead and can give you power to do the same! JESUS is the only begotten Son of God.Born of a virgin.The Bible says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men ,where by we must be saved.” (Acts 4: 12).”JESUS saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).”And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” ( John 14:13). We are to pray in his name,cast out devils in his name,heal in his name,preach in his name. Without the name of JESUS CHRIST there is no power. Everything we have is in JESUS name. “Whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he will give it you.” ( John I6:23b). Expect miracles, and in the name of JESUS and you will have them! “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”(Matthew 1:21). Look how much emphasis the early disciples in the book of Acts put on the name of JESUS ! That’s all they preached and talked about,JESUS ! And that’s the name they did all those miracles in, JESUS ! And that’s the name they won so much of the world in, JESUS ! And that’s the name we will win it in too,JESUS ! It’s JESUS that counts. ”JESUS CHRIST the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”(Hebrews 13:8). JESUS is the most important name in all of creation! Without the name of JESUS you can’t get into heaven or out of hell ! There is something about that name. It is the most soothing, comforting, and peaceful name that I have ever heard. JESUS is the sweetest name I know, and he is just the same as his precious name.The devil and his demons hate the name of JESUS and flee from it. “That at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” ( Philippians 2:10,11). “And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and earth.”( Matthew 28:18). The Power of the name of JESUS is more power than all of man’s atomic and nuclear bombs put together, and the power of the sun, and all the power of all creation put together. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”(John 1:12). “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” ( Revelation 19:13). JESUS is the Word of God. “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” ( John 1:14).” for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Psalms 138:2b).“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”( Revelation 19:16). “Then Peter said, Sliver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth rise up and walk.” ( Acts 3:6).  “AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.” ( Acts 2:21).You can accomplish things in his name! Are you using the power he has given you through his name?

“But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 4:19).“THE earth is the LORD’S,and the fulness therof; the world and they that dwell therein.”(Psalm 24:1).Our Heavenly Father is so powerful and rich that the Heavenly city that he made for us to live in where he also lives, has streets made of pure gold and huge diamonds, and jewels just laying around like rocks. So the treasures Jesus said to lay up for yourselves are obviously not talking about gold and silver and precious jewels,but they are something else.They are the precious souls you have won or helped to win for Jesus that will be in Heaven forever! There won’t be any rent to pay because everything is free.There won’t be any need to have a treasure chest of gold stashed away or bank accounts. “And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts,in that day when I make up my jewels; and I  will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.”(Malachi 3:17).He is no fool who gives what he can not keep to gain what he can not lose. Did you know that when you ask Jesus to come into your heart, you not only become a born again Christian person, but you also become an adopted person? That is right, you become an adopted son or daughter of God’s family, “But as many as received him to them gave He power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on his name.”(John 1:12).This means that you have a home in God’s Heavenly home and have a right to go into his great Heavenly City and live there with all the other saved brothers and sisters, and Jesus Christ our big brother and Saviour, and friend, and our King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s. God and the Holy Spirit, and Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, all live in, and rule from this Holy City made of Gold and Jewels and precious pearls and gems. You can read all about your future home in our classes on Revelation Chapters 21 and 22. Since you are destined to relocate there, wouldn’t you like to learn all about it, and help as many people as you can to get there? So don’t get so hung up in this world and all of its cares and worries. You have a wonderful future to look forward to, and it might be sooner than you think.

Counsel and Advise

“Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.”  (1 Samuel 12:23,24). “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” (1 Samuel 15:23a). One of the main ways to find out God’s will is to Seek Godly Counsel.  (see “How To Find God’s Will”). Don’t be to proud to ask for some advise from someone you know has been down the same road that you are contemplating. First pray and ask Jesus to show you his will and then ask other Godly people who have a lot of experience, and have made a lot of mistakes themselves, and are well grounded in the Word. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” ( Proverbs 3:5,6). Get it confirmed by the Word. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20). Paul lost his life and his head by being stubborn against the Holy Ghost and Counsel of the brethren.  “And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.” “Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.” (Acts 21:4,13,14). Remember that experience is a better teacher, but often a bitter teacher. You only have one guaranteed chance in this life. Don ‘t flub it up! Get some counsel and advise! “For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.” (Proverbs 24:6).

WHY DOES GOD ALLOW DISASTERS AND CATASTROPHES ?

There is a reason for Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Earthquakes, Floods,and other Disasters and Catastrophes .We sometimes don’t understand why God allows these things to happen. We as believers are asked these questions by people who don’t know the Lord, and can’t understand why. Actually it is a chance for us to witness and minister to them. We need to stand strong in faith and show these people the love of Jesus by praying for them, and helping them to understand.” All things work together for good to them that love the Lord.”(Romans 8:28). Who can understand the ways of the Lord? Just believe that God is in control of every little thing. Jesus said “Not one sparrow shall fall, or one blade of grass shall die unless God allows it. And the very hairs of your head are all numbered”.(Matthew 10 & Luke 12). God is a loving, just, Holy, and pure God, and he has a purpose in everything, for everybody, and everything will work out for his purpose in the long run. As we get closer to the end, more and more disasters and catastrophes will come. It has been predicted by the Lord as a sign of the End Times. Sometimes he punishes the wicked, and, or releases the saved and receives them into Heaven, or both. Sometimes disasters and wars are man made. Remember there is life after death in a better place forever for the believer, and this life is so short and temporary. If the Lord takes a believer home it is so much better for them, and we will shortly see them again. “And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.  Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:2-5).  “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21).There may be many reasons that the Lord allows catastrophes to happen. Sometimes it’s to put the fear of God in everyone and help us to wake up and turn to Jesus! “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8,9). “For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?” (Romans 11:34a).”The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” (Psalm 111:10). A good healthy fear of the LORD is a good thing to have. Lord help us to be a witness of you’re love no matter what happens. Amen? ” we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8). “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:  nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;” (Philippians 1:19-25).
